So i just started getting back into the rythm of playing lots of poker after my recent large downswing. I took a few days off to clear my head and have some fun and now when i sit down for a session i don't have that stress lingering around waiting to be outdrawn to go on tilt. I have been playing really well, i'm not running amazing either but i've made about 3500$ this week i think in only 6000 hands of 1/2. After cashing out 2k for Vegas my BR is back up to $17,400 and i should be receiving somewhat around 2k for rakeback.

With all that in mind i have been trying to consider my poker career for the next month or so. I really need to buy a new Truck, i'm almost certain it will be a Toyota Tacomba, unless i win lots of dollars in Vegas. I'm going to finance the truck (if i can get a loan) that way i can preserve most of my BR. What i have been debating in my head is if i should rush back to 2/4, or just sit back at 1/2 for a few months and try to grind out a good living. I'm pretty certain i can beat 2/4, but the 1/2 game is sooo much softer. Anyways, here is a really funny hand from the day, apparently 200$ is nothing to this guy...

Best Drunk Session EVER

so... played somewhat drunk b/c i thought I could beat the games... Played like a ninja.. obviously.. 3- .25/.5 tables 1-.10/.25 table and 2-2/4 tables. Played 404 hands total +750$, So needed, a couple one or two good sessions and i should be back at the 2/4 tables!! Funniest thing ever.. a guy made fun of me at a .25/.5 table b/c he had stats on me and in the last week i obvioulsy lost some money. Point of the story, don't make fun of people if your bank roll is less than 1/10th their BR.. I busted that guy if you couldn't guess that..

So i found out I'm not going to the keys this week, long story that I REALLY don't want to talk about. Worst case scenario i'll get to play a decent amount of poker for the week before i go to Vegas. Anyways, i'm almost certain i'll be in the keys for about a week or so during the July 4th period, if anyone wants to make a trip to the keys i'll take yah fishing... lata

So i haven't posted in a while... I apologize again. I was just catching up on my comments, i love the debate you guys have going there. I think the coolest thing about your comments is that you can all respect each others opinions w/o calling people idiot's-(a common theme in interet forums). I personally think all your points make sense. You can't generalize love/marriage into one category, everyone is different, and everyone wants something slightly different. IMO all girls want financial security like i do b/c i want a family some day and i don't want to live day to day when i have to support my family. This doesn't mean the girl is materialistic or only with me b/c i have money. The biggest part of my plan that i think i failed to mention however is that my criteria for the girl i'm going to marry is that she is going to be RICH!! Absolutely LOADED.... hahaha..j/k.

Anyways, onto another story line. So, the past few weeks have been extremely stressful for me. I had big plans for the month leading up to my Vegas trip.. I was to play 60-80k hands and make between 10-20k. The first week went pretty smooth, about 21k hands and +4.5k! Not bad and considering i wasn't running all that well i'll take it. The next week wouldn't be as nice, I played around 14k hands and ended at -10k! Not so much fun! BR dropped to 15,800 and i started playing 1/2 again at about $17,700. While this was crushing my morale, i took a few days to think of the situation. All in all its not as bad as it seems. I still have a respectable BR, plus I should be getting around 2k in rakeback in a week or so.. I looked over the hands in Poker Tracker to make sure i wasn't making terrible mistakes with a certain hand range. Suited connectors were considerably losing for me over this stretch mainly b/c i continued to flop 13+ out draws and hit about 1/10 on average.. This leads to a losing streak with me b/c i tend to play my draws VERY aggressive. Also in a lot of my sessions there would be 2 or 3 pots that i lost either being a heavy favorite or right at 50/50 that had i won those i would have been even or winning on the session. What can ya do.

So Tomorrow i am going to Key West for a few days before the Vegas trip to satisfy the itch i have to go diving. Will be in the keys until friday and I fly to Vegas on Sunday, So excited!

WhoDat- I'm way to lazy to ship fish out, but if you come to vegas or florida anytime soon i have a freezer full of fish, let me know if you want some.

the future

I spend a lot of time thinking what i am going to do in the future. Sometimes i lose sleep b/c i have so much on my mind. Poker has been very good to me so far this year, and I know I am capable of making a TON of money..easily 80-100k if I can play well and often enough. While that would be a lot of money, it doesn't make my life goals all that easier. Because its not a guaranteed salary, and i need to have a big % in my Bankroll, it will take me a while to be able to afford a house and family. Maybe i'm crazy and I don't need to be making this a big deal over the next year or two, but I can honestly say I want to get married in the next 3-4 years and have kids in my early 30s. Ok, seeing this written down as opposed to hearing it in my head, i have determined that i am indeed crazy. I think the only problem i have with my goal is the money in my bankroll doesn't seem real to me, maybe that day i get to withdrawal 20k from my roll it will hit me how much money that is.

Anyways, now that that's out of the way.. I have decided to take a long break from poker to gather myself. Haven't played in 4 days and i'm leaving for Key west in 14 hours. Going to be down there for 5-6 days, will probably play a couple FTOPS tournaments, but other than that its going to be a poker free trip. When i get back i will try to get back on track. Maybe watch a couple of Jared's sessions to sharpen my instincts, and then i'm going to try to play 3500+ hands/day until the Vegas trip. Current Roll: 20,000. Hopefully i can get back to my winning ways and get my roll to 35k before the Vegas trip. I also plan on making some videos for PokerDynasty and maybe do some coaching sessions if i can find some students to take under my wing.

so yea, i'm drunk, so if my post seems crazy.....yeah. Anyways, i'm taking some time off poker cuz i'm running as shitty as it gets.. -9k last week and a half, all my profit from the week before vanished.. Poker hates me right?... i think so. So i've been chillin everyday playin some volleyball, goin the gym, etc... Leavin for Key West friday afternoon, gonna spend a week or so there, gonna kill a shit ton of fish to make me happy! sorry fish! btw...anyone want some fresh grouper/snapper/any fresh fish?...cuz i'm gonna shoot 'em all.... will post pictures.

My main point to this post is...are there any worth while girls left in this world? I just want to meet a down to earth girl who doesn't smoke cigarettes, doesn't cause useless drama, and has something to offer me? I don't want to be the only one to bring money to the table... I wanna meet a rich girl. A girl with some smarts, and a girl who knows what she wants. btw... i'm kidding about the rich girl...i just want to meet a girl that can keep me going...A girl that can make me crazy and keep me real at the same time. A girl that won't drowned my personality...a girl that will put me to the test. I am so awesome...haha, seriously though, I AM. I need a girl that can push me to be as amazing as i can be, no dull moments.. that is all for now. Sorry i haven't been keeping up with the posts... i have trouble puting my thoughts into words.. So i was going to play a lot of poker tonight, but am not in the mood to gamble. It would probably result in me losing a lot of money. I'm having one of those days where i wish i was somewhere else than my life...maybe not a day, just a moment anyways. I am really happy to live with the people i live with, just sometimes i wish we had more in common.. My personality is kind of outcast to theirs, while we do share a lot of the same interests, i can only watch so much baseball on tv. I can't stand being inside all day watching tv, playing video games, and poker. I need something exhilarating, something physical and challenging. I like to be surrounded by people who are motivated towards a goal. I usually can keep positive about most, but occasionally i just get brought down by those around me. Like the friend who tries to run you over, and then gets home and yells at you on AIM only because you put his windshield wiper up when you got out of his car. I wish someone other than Ryan and I would clean the apartment, Jared isn't terrible at it, but another person never makes an effort. Do you ever feel like you make an extreme effort to help a friend out of a funk and money trouble, and they still go about their life like no trouble exists, and they don't go out of their way to make a change or make you feel like you should keep trying. I hate feeling alone in an apartment with 3 other people i consider to be my best friends. Things are getting better though, Ryan and I play basketball a couple times a week, tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo and we're gonna be at the pool drinking Corona and playing Volleyball all day. One more week and i will be in Key West for 6 days. That should really help out, going out in the boat and diving every day seems to relax me. Maybe a good dinner will help clear my head so i can play a session.

I had a good week of poker last week, this week seems to be a little different. But i'll get into that later. Got a chance to go diving yesterday with a friend of mine from key west who also lives up here in tampa. Pretty interesting day, we go out at noonish and get to the wreck at 1:30. We pull up and there are barracudas everywhere and a big cobia swimming on the surface, which is good eating and really fun to shoot(hopefully i can post the photo). So we anchor up and start freediving, the depth is 45ft. My first drop down i see a really nice grouper hauling ass away, and then a 6-7 foot Bull Shark cruises by on the bottom. He didn't seem too threatening so we keep going, after a bit i notice the cobia lying on the bottom. I try to get my friend to back me up, but he ends up diving down behind me and eventually see's the cobia on the bottom and he goes and shoots it! Asshole steals my fish!! Its all good though cuz he didn't know i was there. The cobia fights real hard and shakes the spear free and starts swimming in a circle on the bottom. All the commotion brings the shark through and he does a pass checking things out and then dissapears. After a couple more shots and about 5 minutes we get the nice cobia and swim him back to the boat.

Now we rest for like 5min and get back in. Swim around for awhile and i make a dive to about 15 ft off the bottom and scan the area for fish. As i'm about to head up for air I look over my shoulder to see this Bull Shark coming up from behind me about 10ft away. By the time i get turned around and get my gun between he is about 5 ft away and closing. He makes a slight turn more towards me and i Jab my spear as hard as i can square into his nose. Not liking that he takes off to the bottom and cruises around for a little bit while we swim back towards the boat. I was really lucky i saw him when i did b/c one of two things would have happened:

1) He just does a curious pass by and maybe grazes my fins.

2) He does a curios pass and takes a test bite out of my leg.

Anyways, all the rest of the fish we saw were small and all we got was this cobia....

So my job rocks...i've been playing pretty well..making a few mistakes from time to time, like yesterday i bluffed off 600$..ooops. And today i donked off 500$..but overall a good week still. Planning on going to the beach on saturday to play some volleyball and hit on girls, then party it up at night and enjoy my life. Off to the gym now, did legs yesterday for the first time in months...can barely walk, awesome.

So after trying to hit up the hot tub and it being broken, we took our anger out on the PS3-Resistance game. After that i decided to play a little late night session, and what an awesome decision. For some reason people wanted to give me money, and would get all in with top pair J kicker, or the 1k hand of AA vs AJ all in preflop...don't know what that dude was thinking. Anywho, i'm gonna go pass out now...heres the Results:

Ok, so i have been rolling some ideas over in my head as far as what i want from life over the next couple months.

1) Get my poker bankroll to 45k before Vegas trip(Jun. 18th-Jul. 18th)
2) Getting a gym membership today and must work out 4-5 days a week. Start running occasionally and swim laps in a pool once a week. I want to be in incredible shape so I can work at my goal of freediving.
3) Be able to freedive 100+ feet. (that means in the ocean, holding my breath)
4) Go out more often to places where 99% of the girls don't smoke.. cigarettes are disgusting.
5) Sell my car and buy a new truck..probably Toyota Tacoma. Not exactly sure if i am going to do this before or after the Vegas trip.. I might push it back to around July depending on how poker goes in the next couple months.

So, after a really bad day at the office (-3k) I have bounced back reasonably. Yesterday played a short session: 30min=600$ Went out with a couple friends and shot some pool, was planning on playing a late night session but my friends depression somewhat rubbed out on me and i wasn't in the mood to gamble. Woke up today at 3pm, went and got my tire fixed on my car so i can drive it around safely. Got home at 5pm and played a session.

Results: 2hrs 1200 hands= +1700$ Bankroll: $23,280

Crazy night on the town

So i went out with some friends tonight to a bar. Everything was cool, getting drunk, talking to girls.. Around 2:30am i go to the bathroom and the giant mirror that was in there was shattered and all over the ground. It turns out there was an argument over "colors" between a black guy and an Irish guy (wearing Red and Blue respectively). So apparently my friend was in the bathroom at the time this happened and witnessed the whole thing and supposedly talked them down from fighting...which probably woulda resulted in someone getting shanked with a shard of glass. So we leave at 3am and the cops show up. The black dude gets arrested and my friend is really upset that this happens b/c the Irish dude pushed him into the mirror breaking it. So he wants to give a statement to the cops b/c he thinks the cops are racist and they are blaming the black guy for everything.

So we go over to the cops, and the cops are GIANT ASSHOLES. After talking to my friend w/0 taking his statement as an eye-witness the cop tells him to walk away before he gets arrested. I then ask the cop (calmly) for his name. He tells me he is the lead investigator and to leave. I ask for his name again and he tells me " You want my name? You'll get it in a minute when your in handcuffs if you don't walk away!" I fucking hate cops!! So were gonna go to the sherrif's office tomorrow and file a complaint against those assholes.

First Blog

So, I am new to this whole blogging thing. It's 6am and I can't sleep, apparently i have a lot on my mind. Mainly I will be posting about my poker career: results, thoughts, ideas, style, etc... But i'll probably mix random things that i do that i find interesting, like maybe when i go spearfishing and what not. So that is all for now.. I guess i can add my day of poker.

Played 2 sessions at 2/4 NL. First session was very short 50 hands +500$. Second session didn't go so well.. 1000ish hands -2200$ ran very poorly, whenever i had a big hand or even a top pair hand i got no action, and whenever i bricked i was given no respect.. Made a couple of mistakes as well.
